2007 Yamaha Rhino 450 Dynatek CDI upgrade:
I just swapped out my stock Rhino CDI for this Dynatek 450 CDI. It was easy to install and made the Rhino accelerate slightly faster. It seemed like it sounds better now also. The top speed limiter was removed making my Rhino have a top speed of 41 MPH. It could hit 37 MPH before with my 26" tires. The annoying popping at top speed is gone and it revs all the way up to 9000 RPMs over the stock 7400 RPMs . I expected it to go way faster with this $200 upgrade but I got a 3-5 MPH increase and some better acceleration on a bone stock motor. I just raced another Rhino 450 on the street and beat him both times by 3 or 4 Rhino lengths. Before we were side by side every time we raced. I recommend keeping your stock CDI just in case the Dynatek malfunctions or doesn't mix well with future modifications. I also heard if you get an exhaust with this CDI your 450 will be as fast as a stock 660. Hmmm.

There is a CDI available for the 660, I have not heard of any for the New Rhino 700 with fuel injection yet.

Was the Dynatek CDI worth $200 bucks? If you think 3-5 MPH is worth $200 bucks then get it. I did.

Update: Tested the Dragonfire Racing Rhino CDI on a stock Rhino 450 and the top speed was about 38-39 MPH. The low end was real quick. When I gunned it, it spun em'. No race yet, but soon.

Update: Hit 42 MPH with the Dynatek CDI in my Rhino 450. If you have a CDI you will pull away from stock Rhinos when they hit top speed.
